We have added a new colour, Silver, to the selection available for our G-5000 door. This colour is increasingly requested by architects who want to give a modern look to their buildings.

The Cambridge brings together urban trends with rich, classical heritage. It is characterized by an architectural style that uses decorative overlays, large windows and wood-grain finish, thus giving the appearance of a wooden door, minus the upkeep. Its charm, true to traditional architecture, is a result of hand-crafted design wedded with high-precision manufacturing, producing a flawless appearance.

The Cambridge door is available in a choice of five colours and three for its decorative overlays. Its three design models blend well with most of the popular home styles, like country-style, Victorian, manor and traditional. The door is injected with polyurethane to ensure solid construction and superior insulation. It comes with the Dura+ heavy-duty hardware system, the high-performance exterior frame weather stripping ThermoBlok, and finally, as option, the ultra-quiet CarGO door opener. Garaga launches the third generation of its Design Centre

Garaga has just moved to a more advanced version of its Design Centre, now providing even further ways of creating a garage door.

This means that, from now on, you can upload a photograph of your home onto Garaga’s Design Centre website and interchange any one of Garaga’s numerous door models onto the photo.

As explained by Nancy Labbé, Communications Coordinator at Garaga, users can actually visualize what a new garage door looks like on their home. Ms. Labbé proudly notes that Garaga was the first Canadian garage door manufacturer to offer a Design Centre to consumers in 2002. ?Due to major advances in Internet design technology over the past three years, we can now provide this new capability to homeowners?.

Browsing the Garaga microsite, users can select one of 17 door models, in up to16 colours, with a collection of seven possible window styles. At the end of the process, they can save the result, keep it in memory for when they next return to the site, and even send it to family or friends via Facebook. Results can also be printed and taken to a Garaga dealer to get a free estimate for the project.

What is even more interesting about Garaga’s Design Centre, adds Ms. Labbé, is that visitors have two other possibilities. For instance, in the case of new home construction projects, visitors can choose from among 26 different home models the one that comes closest to their dream home, and then try out different combinations of door models, colours and sizes.

A second option is for only the garage facing to be chosen from among the materials that closest match the actual project, and from there design the desired garage door. As before, all this information can be saved, printed, or sent to friends or family by Internet.

We know how much consumers want to visualize their projects before investing any money in renovation or construction. We fully understand this concern which is why we are launching our new Design Centre?, concludes Ms. Labbé.

Garaga adds three new colours

Garaga is proud to announce the addition of three new colours to its selection: Moka Brown, Savana and Tundra.

As a result of recent studies and client surveys, Garaga has decided to bring its colour choices in line with market trends. The fact is that ?earth? tones are increasingly in demand from homeowners to harmonize with everything from brick to imitation stone.

As noted by Nancy Labbé, Marketing Coordinator at Garaga, consumers in the larger urban areas of Canada are looking for light or dark shades of brown or green. On the other hand, there are some consumers, primarily in the suburbs, who are looking for bright colours like midnight blue, maize or country red.

To satisfy the needs of homeowners looking for earth tone colours, Garaga has added the colour Moka Brown (a dark brown), Tundra (a greenish brown) and Savana (a sand). «There are a total of eight colours in shades of brown, beige and clay to satisfy the varied tastes of consumers,» says Ms. Labbé.

Ms. Labbé adds that it is important to coordinate the exterior colours of a home. «We often find a balance of three colours. The most important is the colour of the siding (brick, vinyl or wood to a lessening extent). Next is the secondary colour, as in the colour of the windows, doors, shutters, and the garage door. Finally, any decorative accessories are the third colour. In Canada, a particular phenomenon has been observed. Consumers prefer for their front door to coordinate with their garage door. Hence the importance of Garaga to recognize this need and respond by offering a range of colours to suit the demand.»

In total, Garaga offers a range of 16 colours, in baked-on, polyester-based paint for better resistance to weathering. This is the widest choice offered by any Canadian garage door manufacturer.
